Description

Eastview Farm contains approximately 516 acres of beautiful pastureland, hayfields, and agricultural land with the main farm entrance fronting on Howardsville Road (State Route 602) and is located in a neighborhood of other large farms and estates in the James River Magisterial District of Buckingham County, Virginia. Eastview boasts a rich history of ownership dating back to Colonel Thomas Moseley Bondurant in the late 1700s. A prominent legislator from Buckingham County, Bondurant was connected with the Richmond Whig Newspaper. Although orphaned early in life, he achieved great success in business, owning between 20,000 and 30,000 acres of land. Among his land holdings were Algoma, Variety Shade, Black Rock, Perry Hill, which he built for his daughter Angelina, Col Alto, which was built for his son Alexander Joseph Bondurant, and Eastview, which was given to his oldest son, Thomas Lee Bondurant. Improvements include the old homesite, which contains mature landscaping, a Colonial-style guest cottage, horse barn, perimeter fencing and cross fencing, two stocked ponds, and a 3,000-foot airstrip. Eastview has over two miles of state-maintained road frontage on both State Routes 601 and 602. Access is 39 miles south of Charlottesville, 74 miles west of Richmond, 39 miles east of Lynchburg, and 128 miles south of Washington D.C. Eastview would make an ideal beef cattle, dairy, row crop, equestrian farm and/or country estate.
